Sights and Sounds Series
Sights and Sounds Series (2023-2024)
Generative Video and Music, 9x16
The Sights and Sounds series is a collection of over 50 generative video works created over a year, built on the foundation of consistent and meditative creative practice. Each week, I challenged myself to create a new piece of generative video using Max MSP paired with original music, pushing the boundaries of what video signals could express. The series is not only a body of work but also a personal exploration of process, discipline, and the evolving language of video art.
At its core, Sights and Sounds was about discovering how generative art could serve as a medium for self-expression. My focus was to treat each piece as a way to refine my craft while embracing the imperfections of video feedback, coding, and video synthesis. By committing to a weekly schedule, I built a habit of creating consistently, which allowed me to experiment and grow as an artist. This process wasn’t just about the finished works but also about using social media as a visual sketchbook—a place to share ideas in progress and engage with an audience in a generally polished medium with abstract, imperfect ideas.
